Construction Manager, 28×28 Rotation, Iraq

CH2M currently have a requirement for 2 Construction Managers to join us on a EPCM project in Umm Qasr, Iraq working on a 28×28 rotation. The Construction Manager is responsible for the overall management of the construction contractors. Act as the Clients prime point of contact for the construction supervision aspects of the project, including progress reporting, safety, financial recommendations and quality control.
Overall management of the construction contractors. Act as the Clients prime point of contact for the construction supervision aspects of the project, including progress reporting, safety, financial recommendations and quality control.Monitors progress of construction against the Schedule, and takes steps to ensure schedule compliance.Support the Project Team in Risk Management activities;Ensure SIMOPS and Work Permits protocols are effectively managed;Enforce project quality control procedures and ensure that they are audited in accordance with the contract requirements.Ensure Site HSE and Security requirements are strictly adhered to by CH2M staff as well as Contractors’ staff.Ensure compliance to the Client’s Flawless Delivery Plan.Critically evaluate construction method statements and (if required) provide guidance to the contractor.Organize and participate in daily, weekly and monthly meetingsIdentify the resource requirements for the effective supervision of the construction works, and work with the project controls team to gain client approval for the positions and equipment.Work closely with Contractors, Client and other stakeholders to address site interface related issues and ensure project progress.Builds a trusted relationship with the management team and with the client’s counterpart staff.Determines the training needs of staff within their discipline. Provide feedback on the project specific training needs for their staff for construction related worksEnsure Client’s Change Management and Cost management objectives and procedures are strictly adhered to.Lead Management Review and ensure audit complianceEnsure timely review & approval of all project submittal and maintain up to date Submittal log.Maintain proper commination with Home office and Support Home office with regular reports, updates and other tasksSupport all activities related to project closure and ensure all contractual obligations are completed.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Bachelor’s Degree in EngineeringFluent in English languageArabic language skills desirable15+ years’ experience working in a construction supervision/RE role.Experience in civil- marine construction.Prior experience in Oil & Gas desirablePrior experience in the Middle East desirableManaged a construction project an RE role. In-depth understanding of construction project management principles and best practicesKnowledge of marine construction and dredging.Understanding of HSE principles and best practices.Understanding of SIMOPS during construction of brownfield developmentsGood interpersonal & problem-solving skills.Strong people management skills, with ability to build relationships.Timely Decision Making
